As I sat earlier today, among papers and textbooks, feverishly studying for my upcoming finals I was interrupted by the familiar 'ting' of my phone, indicating a new email. It was from my brother and simply said "the masses want more BLOG!!'. A few things about this: 1. I think the use of the word BLOG was incorrect. Which is neither here nor there, but once again shows how infuriating the word is...only second to that of 'tweet' or 'tweeting' or twittering' or whatever the hell that's all about. 2. The masses? I think it's a fair assesment that a group of 8 people, consisting largely of family and 3 close friends hardly constitutes masses of any kind.... and 3. Was there a gathering? Cause it kind of infers there was a gathering where my blog might or might not have, but probably was discussed. Either way, I encourage this in the furture.

Jamie must have read my mind because, email promt or not, I was planning on posting a new blog today. The precursor to this was that I laid awake last night for what I would dare to say was close to an hour thinking about material for my next posting. This is exactly what I was worried about last week when I discussed that whole 'accountability' thing.. It started out all fun and games and now I'm losing sleep over it. Its starting to affect my health. It's a health risk at this point. Fantastic.

Lets review the week. There are a few noteable things we should touch on. First and foremost, the Tiger Woods scandal. I think it truely is a sad thing when a celebrity, especially one who tried to maintain his privacy as much as Tiger, becomes victim to the tabloids. Now not that I believe in racial profiling or anything, but I think its a fair assesment that the black half of Tiger is the half that cheated on his wife, and the asian half got him in the car wreck.

Last week I was given a take-home lab on nutrition for my Physilogy class. We were required to record all caloric intake and physical activity for a 24 hour period, all minutes of the day needing to be accounted for. The information was then plugged into a database at mypyramid.gov for analysis. When I was scrolling through the physical activity options under 'light housework' I came across the option 'butchering animals'..... Here's the thing, I'm aware that there was a time in this country when people were indeed butchering their own animals. I'm also fairly certain that since the invention of the internet (Al Gore, mid'90s) when this webiste was created that people are now buying their meat pre-butchered. Now what I didn't find under the options menu was "Guitar Hero". I'm thinking this list needs to be updated...just saying....

In other news, the state of California has issued a SEVERE WINTER STORM WARNING!!!! known commonly in other parts of the country as rain. Stay safe out there.

Blogging. Who came up with this term? I'm not gonna lie, it annoys the shit out of me. Having said that, welcome to my blog. A few years ago I had an online journal that I'm pretty sure would have qualified as a blog. I updated it pretty religiously for about 3 weeks. Turns out, it proved to be too big a commitment for me, because here's the thing... I am not a fan of accountability and it became a chore instead of an outlet of self expression. I have dreamed of blogging for quite some time now ("quite some time now" being roughly a month) and have shyed away from it because I know myself, and if you know me at all, we all know I flake. Not to mention all the shit I will probably get for my atrocious spelling, run-on sentences and just generally all-around poor grammar. I'm witty, ladies and gentleman, but I said nothing about being gramtically correct.

So this is how this is going to work: I'm going to log into blogger.com every now and again when I remember, or more accurately when I'm just that bored (unless they have a mobile version of this site and then, lets be honest, I'll be blogging at the wheel) to post antecdotes, ruminations, observations and opinions of mine that I have on just about anything. Don't expect anything too deep. I pride myself on being a relatively shallow person. I stay away from anything that can get me in trouble, i.e. politics, religon, world news, ect.. mainly because I don't have a fucking clue about any of those things and I like to maintain a facade that I'm somewhat intelligent... if I had to comment on the aformentioned, the jig would be up.

PS - I take kindly to comments of any kind, EXCEPT about my spelling, punctiation and/or grammer in general. Save it, Captain Correct. Until I can afford an editor, it is what it is. I was blessed in some areas, and am clearly lacking in many others. I've set my sights on someday being mediocre at best. A girl can dream.
